Ignition coil Problem

Hello I have just purchased a 1976 109 Ute with a 2.25 petrol engine, it had been sat idle under some trees for 7 years. It turns over and most things seem okay but I have no spark out of the coil. I have had the coil tested and it is fine and even got a new lead from the coil to the distributor cap. It is receiving power from a wire coming from the loom which is on the positive and another wire off the dizzy cap which is on the negative side but still no spark?

Can anyone help me? Is there a wire missing?? or have I got my wires wrong??

Check 1 you have live to coil, giving at least 10v when cranking
" 2 the other side of coil goes to points
3 try putting wire on points side of coil after disconnecting points wire and with ign on and centre coil lead (the one that goes to centre of dizzy cap) end held approx 8mm from engine or other metal tap the wire from coil (points side) terminal to earth( bright metal of engine or body) you should see a spark
4 If you do then you need to reconnect points to coil after removing other wire
5 crank engine to see if points are opening and closing fully if they are then if no spark from coil centre lead it could be that the insulator on the lt wire that connects direct to the points is in the wrong position and you have a short to earth permanently refit points feed wire with insulator on correct pos. After properly earthing the coil and setting the timing as per the Haynes Manual, I have managed to get it going!!! Everything seems to be fine, not bad for being literally parked on a hill under some trees for 7 years.

Just have to figure out the clutch now and it will be able to move by it's own power!!
