Hello,

I tightened the steering box up a touch last week to get rid of some of the slack in my steering wheel which seems to have worked a treat but I've just started to notice that I can turn my wheels to the left a fair bit easier than I can to the right. This was also the same when I slackened the steering right off. My 90 also tends to wonder quite a bit especially when braking, is this usual? It has colway AT's which aren't very chunky. Finally, the steering tends to pull to the left and I find myself having to turn to the right more often than to the left in order to keep in a straight line.

What can I do?
Here are some things that I have noticed:

1) Where the drop arm comes out of the bottom of the steering box, there is a rubber gasket but it isn't sat right and the steering shaft has a lot of surface rust.

2) The front most moving joint on the drivers side (the one with the rubber cover and little coil spring to keep cover in place) has become exposed (rubber has moved) and the spring has almost broken.

Thanks in advance for any help!

1. Not avbsolutely sure but I don't think it should.
2. if the seal has gone an watters got in the the joint will probly be shagged new uns are cheap enough an you might as well do both ends.

Have you had a look at your steering damper that could be shagged as well.

yea he does.
He's right.

D'yer know why the dampers on yer suspension are called shock absorbers and the shock absorbers are called springs when it's quite obvious that the springs are the shock absorbers an the shockabsorbers are dampers an if thats the case then why int the steering damper called a steering shock absorber.
