Hi and welcome to 'Abuse the noobie/banterland' - oops sorry LandyZone. :p

If you've worn a uniform and driven a 90 at the same time, I'm sure you'll survive the guys we have on here. :D

However, give us a clue mate, - what engine? - what year?

Glad you're onboard.

Singvogel. :cool:

Where gonna need more info than that! Lol

It's m47 engine 2.0 tdi 2006, I have put the pcv mod on egr valve removed and blanked and cheers ad more stick in army

how long have you had the vehicle ?
did it start doing this after you deleted the egr / fitted the pcv mod ?
does the in-cab heater setting make a difference to idle rpm ?
( the ptc heater .. if fitted and activated .. can take idle rpm up to 851 )

about 6 months no this is after egr mod but was on going before pcv mod
the heather infact dose make a diffrenece from turning hot to cold by about 50 rpm or so no pct heater /sport model

if i had ptc heater where would it be

the heating elements be somewhere inside the cab heater assembly

http://www.landyzone.co.uk/lz/2280393-post5.html

the 'clik' described in the above link .. actualy be the ptc relay in the cab fuse box ..

~~~~
the egr delete .. enabling more fresh air flow to the intake .. might help 'up' the idle rpm
that's just a theory :)
can't say for sure .. as i did most mods within first week of ownership
( i.e. egr delete .. etc etc )
'n didn't take notice of idling rpm changes 'till later on ..
mines a 2006 td4 .. thought the raised idle had something to do with the air con ..
more experimentation showed it was the ptc heater .. and not the ac ..
~~~~

the ptc heater can be disabled by removing the relevant cab relay .. if needed ..
( relay '13' .. bottom left in the cab fuse box )

i did so .. 'cause i realised the raised idle rpm was a sign it were using more fuel

.. mpg tests showed that to be true ..

~~~
btw:
ac on or off .. makes scant difference to mpg with mine ..
Also if the battery voltage is low due to a failing cell? the engine ECU will increase engine speed to ensure there is sufficient output from the alternator!!
I have a little realy bottom left that's radio pulled on on Top of it see how it goes everything's working
The little realy works I pulled it out dosent matter hot or cold revs don't change fault still here revs were on first dot on counter then I went in a shop hey presto they raised put the relay back in back to 900 what can it be and can I leave the relay out
another nodge-wise gem of information .. good to know :)
~~~

.. and can I leave the relay out

well .. IF it is the ptc-heater relay your on about ..
it won't do any harm ..
just means the ptc-heater won't operate 'n provide cab heat before the engine coolant temp rises ..
( or 'add-to' the heat generated by the engine coolant )
on the plus side .. it won't add more work for the battery/alternator ..

not to have immediate cab heat doesn't bother me ..
but it might bother some folk i guess ..
for some reason i don't have misting window problems that some have ..
'n besides i often have the drivers window wide open even on the coldest of days .. at slow road speed

although .. without the ptc .. in sub freezing weather .. the in cab heat output does struggle a tad ..

i've a 'commercial' td4 hippo ( no rear side windows ) .. and a 3/4 height 'curtain' over the loadspace cage
so maybe more heats gets retained in the cab area than with a regular vehicle .. (?)

~~~~~~~
in-cab fuse box details on this link .. page 2.5
http://macassemble.com/lrm/freelander/Freelander Electrical Library (2004).pdf
the ptc-heater relay .. they name as "R6" .. ( haynes manual names it as 'R13' for some reason )
Right got a bit closer to problem when ignition is on not running I can see the rev counter rise to 0 but in some cases it judders and sets just over 0 henc the high tick over presto now what can be doing this ??
