As an owner of a HSE I have always felt like the poor relation when looking at the Vogue owners with their fancy touch screens and sat nav. So with the pixels on my display slowly fading away to nothing, it was time for an upgrade.
After spending months looking at the options I decided on a Chinese manufactured unit with all the options from a UK based distributor.
Fitting wasn't the quite the plug and play exercise I had expected as the plastic cage the old radio sat in required some extensive butchery to get the unit to fit acceptably.
There were no instructions at all as to where all the masses of wires, modules, receivers and antennas were to go, but several hours patient detective work seemed to have everything working. Final fit and finish isn't quite factory quality but I am very pleased with the result.
So we now have DVD, Digital TV, Bluetooth, Sat nav, Phone connection (hands free) as well as ipod connection and all the steering wheel buttons work, but the best thing is I can see what radio station I am tuned into.
