Hs 2.8 tgv

I Have installed a HS 2.8 TGV Diesel into a Manual shift Discovery.
I would be happy to share my experiences (Positive & Negative) with anyone considering this engine swap.

It could/should be a brand-new motor from Brazil !!

Yes a new international from Brazil.

On the positive side ....
It is a very gutsy engine, more real world pulling power than the V8.
Good economy 28 to 30 mpg, up from 17.
I hav also swapped the tranfer box for a 1:1003 range rover unit,
comfortable, quiet 60 mph cruising at 1800 rpm.

Problems......
Clutch, the regular 300 Tdi clutch could not hold the torque, uprated pressure plate worked fine until friction plate shattered. Engine supplier is helping me get his sorted

I'm back on the road again with new clutch and bellhousing, lets see if it can take the torque. Planning a trip to Moab in May.
