How warm should a VCU get with normal running?

Just wondering how hot a VCU should get before I need to worry. Took a 40 mile round trip at the weekend and it was hot enough to touch but I could comfortably keep my hand on it.

Is this normal??

i did an extended 70mph test yesterday .. motorway and d.c. 'A'road
stopped in a layby .. immediately measured the vcu temp .. it were 29c

We don't really know what a good vcu temp is, but we may be able to work out a rule of thumb if peeps put up their measurements, using the same format I did in the link above. HINT.

Missmatched tyres caused my vcu to get VERY VERY HOT also with a drone at 60 to 70 mph , very lucky to realise this , put 4 tyres on , same size/make/model , caught just in time me thinks

now vcu is cold on short trips warm on longer , not hot , but keeping an eye on it !
