how to shorten the front of a disco 1

hi all i am new to landyzone. i have bought my self a k reg 200 tdi to bobtail. my mates done a few bobtails so thats the easy part how ever i want to also shorten the front end but i am unsure of how to do this. is they anyoneon here that can help me

No point cos the wheels won't move back. you could just remove radiator and cut chassis back to the engine.

Tdi engines run cold anyway so as long as its not thrashed. :D

You'll find the front of the disco very pliable. Just drive it in to a wall. Try and get it square on. 30mph should do it, but if that's too short, just go a little slower, or go even faster if you want to shorten it a lot.

Remember to undo the seat bolts before hand. Removing windscreen is optional. :D
 
take the engine out, and replace with a mini 1000cc, u can then lose at least foot and half off the nose
 
i might have confused a few people on here, when you bobtail the rear of a disco 1 ya can also bobtail the front which takes 4 inch out. you have to chop down the wings, inner wings bonnet etc but i am unsure of how to do it
 
do that and you loose all light mounts etc,if its not road legal then just cut till your hearts content..iv never seen a front bobtail disco thats road legal
 
iv seen one road legal at a 4x4 fair i went to. i can only see 1 picture on google of how its done. i know its a big task but i think they look good when they are done
 
 
has anyone ever seen it done or now how to do it, could do with some pictures to look at and see how its done in stages then i will tackle mine

If you can't work the rest out I wouldn't go near it as you'll lose yourself. You need to move the body mounts and whole front end assembly as one.

Lift the body two inches and you won't need it anyhow

that looks awesome mate, iv got a 4 door one but i cant decide how to have the back of mine. its either gonna be like yours, or im gonna have a little lip at the back. iv looked on google for the past week or so and only came accross 1 picture and cant find anymore
