2001 TD4 Freelander.
I possibly have a loose or dirty contact on the 12v supply into the Starter (sometimes the car starts, other times not even a click).
I have followed the Haynes manual as far as removing the main plastic engine cover, then removal of the battery and battery tray.
But then the book seems to go very quiet...all the Freelander variants, I just can't seem to make sense of it.. anyone oblige me on the next step?
I am just looking to get to the Starter's 12v wire to give it a shake and clean.
(car is not as yet up on jacks -do I need them?)
