how much stuff d they want???

Just finished sorting out the insurance, got the list of stuff they want, my god...

Proof of no claims, ok, but the last 6 years havn't asked
An Immobiliser Decleration to sign/return
Proof of where I work!!!
Copy of Driving licence of all named drivers (NEVER been asked for copies of this in 12 years)
Proof of the 1 claim I have had (that wasnt my fault, chuff knows what they want for this will have to phone them)
and recent photos of the motor, front, back, both sides, interior and engine bay... what???

have i just found some strange insurer, or is this normal these days?

getting to be more and more normal now, in an effort to reduce unlicensed drivers obtaining insurance, prevent false info about immobilisers etc to reduce premiums, and proof of condition and whether or not the vehicle has modifications you havent declared and has mods you say it has, if the case may be.

theyre tightening up on all kinds of stuff now, in an effort to keep premiums at rip off level instead of daylight robbery level!

suppose so, was just taken aback, as I've never been asked for any of this stuff before. can really complain too much for the price with mods...

usually they'll contact your previous company for proof of NCD, but for some reason, some companies aren't on their speed dial so you have to do the legwork yourself.

my mate got asked for all the photos, copies of driving licence etc, but told them he wasn't going to send them and they changed their mind, then a week later decided they did want the photos and copy of the licence after all. so he sent them. quite clever angles; you cant even tell its got a snorkel or under armour or owt on from the photos. not sure if he declared them afterwards or not, daft sod.
