Hi all, I’ve just got a TD5 and it can be a bit of lazy starter particularly when cold. I know fuel pumps are a weakness on td5s and the fuel level was very low when I bought it so wondering if there’s just a bit of crud in the pump (it’s since done 150 miles on fresh fuel).
I’ve looked at the hundreds of threads on this but not found a direct answer- when I start up the fuel pumps buzzes but sometimes it dies away after 10 seconds (engine starts fine), other times it keep buzzing and does not stop. I usually have to pump the accelerator and it will start after a few try’s.
What do you think?
