How do I tell the difference between a pre and post 98 disco

Can anyone tell me if there is any simple way to tell if I am looking at a
pre or post 98 build discovery.
I know that the model was signnificantly updated in 98, but I dont know if
it was at the beginning or end of 98.

Can anyone help
