Have just about dismantled the whole of the engine. New shells at the bottom and a second new cam going in. Yesterday I managed to get the old new cam out. 2 lobes had disappeared on the exhaust on the passenger bank. So not able to exhaust , so the result was a burnt gasket ring exhausting into the crankcase chamber. No problems the other side as the gasket was fine as were the lobes for that bank. So if your head gasket goes don't presume it's just the gasket. I'm replacing the lifters (oem) rockers, rocker shafts and putting a genuine cam in. That's the last time I'm taking apart that engine. I've had the car for 11 years and it's got 150k on the clock. Purr you barstool or else !!!!
