I have recently purchased a 2003 TD5 xs and find it very enjoyable. However, a slightly more comfortable motorway cruising speed would be nice.
How good is the revised transfer box gearing coupled with the tuning upgrade?? Has anybody had experience of this upgrade?

You need the xfer box from a TD5 Disco which gives you longer legs in high range but retains the low range capability. I'm told that at 70mph it drops the engine revs in fifth by 500 rpm but I can not confirm this as I've not done it. It is something on my to-do list as and when I can afford it. You could also get your existing xfer box rebuilt with the higher gearing at Ashcrofts. They also supply the relavant parts if you fancy having a go yourself.

Thanks for that info, it does sound like a good modification, I will arrange to try before making the change. What tyres do you recommend for all round use, light off road work/road work. I have been informed that BF Goodridge TA are ideal!
