Hi,
Just saying hello, and how nice it is to have a Land Rover again after the S2A I learned to drive in. Got a Disco S2 XS v8 today. I probably should mention I also have a Jeep Wrangler (daily commuter) and a 5.9 Jeep Grand Wagoneer (being restored), but I'm sure you won't hold that against me.

We currently have a collection of 5 Jeeps that have failed there mot's all awaiting parts from the rubbish parts department. Usually test at least 3 Landys per day and the longest they stay at the workshop is 1 day. We now refuse to carry out Mot's on imported vehicles as the parts situation is so dire.

My 99 Wrangler has never broken down so has never required any parts. The 91 Wagoneer is a left hand drive import - usually takes 2 weeks to get bits as they don't carry anything in stock which is not unreasonable as they weren't really sold here.

Parts availability depends largely on where you live - in Birmingham the parts department is big with several people working it; in Edinburgh it is literally ONE 15' PORTACABIN !! (guy + stock) Can you believe it ?
