I’m Kev, hi everyone!

I’m a proper newbie at Landy’s, but I am committed!
I retired from UK FRS a few months ago and parent of the deal wit my partner, Lynn, was a Defender 110.
Well retirement came and i researched and found Lottie! Bought from nene Overland end of September. 2019.

She’s a metallic red, 2.4 TDCi (Puma, i think?) engine’s been remapped/chipped, sound proofed (as far as it goes!) with an alpine sub-woofer and a safe-T Pedalbox to keep her where i leave her.

When i was about 14 i saw a white LWB Land Rover with a funny double roof thing that i now know was Series 3 Safari, and i just liked it! For some reason i cant identify i never bought one before.

Retirement gave me the chance to get as specked and as new as I could afford and that’s Lottie.

I simply love driving my Landy. I know they’re not perfect and yes the new one will be amazing i am sure.

But, its just not the same and i smile every time i driver her /and i love the waves from the rest of you when we drive past!

So, hope that doesn’t make any of yo wretch!

Look forward to the getting the benefit of all your combined knowledge when i.m struggling to sort out something you have all done a million times before!

Kev

Hi Saxavordian and Gold Rover,

Nice of you both to respond! Sorry about the 3 pic composite, no idea how that happened!

Just been out playing and am delighted to announce I have successfully replaced the front door check strap and.... drum roll please... it works properly!

Does everyone wonder at how Land Rover fitters minds work when they bolt things and fit things in ways they must know we will be stunned at how they found a way to do it that requires more hands than issued and thinking outside of every conceivable shaped container!

Happy days, though, Done and Dusted!

Oh, and if you want more Lottie Pics Mr Gold Rover, here ya go, she is very pretty!

Hi Again Everyone,

It’s really good to feel welcome and to be welcomed! Not all sites are created equal!

Landy Zone has made an impression and its all good!

Had my first forays into Landy Physiology over the last week and feeling ok, no disasters! Have sorted the driver door check strap (there was nothing to help with this journey so had to plunge in and discover alone... terrifying and satisfying!) and with a lot of help from my mate Costa i now have a working rear camera, forward camera and a very techy mirror that is (currently) working great!

My next bit of sorting is a remote solenoid in the rear driver door... where do i go guys to find out where the fuse(s) is or are, its not in Haynes, or at least not under central locking and i am hopeful it might be a simple fuse change! For info; it went wrong after a west yorks morning freeze and this numpty trying to force doors to open before simply melting the ice causing the problem! So it could be proper burnout or knackered! I forgot these doors dont have a switches and there’s real engineering and ironmongery making things work! Lesson learnt!

Hey, ho, **** happens, if i cant take a joke, I shouldn’t have joined eh?

Kev
Mr Haywood, Mr Gold Rover!

hi Guys,

Couldn't find the central locking in the fuse list, but as you seem to have much more confidence than I do, I'll accept my limitations and re-check with glasses and more care!

The off-road watery bit was done with Edd Cobley at ProTrax near Peterborough. Edd is clearly a famous Landy fella; he has thrown Vicky Butler-Henderson around (I am obviously jealous!) the track I was playing for 5th Gear and he drives for the Bowler Land Rover Team. He pops up at shows and on YouTube fair bit once you know he's out there. Anyway, he is also a Land Rover Experience Instructor.

When I bought Lottie from Nene Overland, my partner Lynn asked if there was anywhere I could get some proper training/experience on how wonderful the Landy is. I knew she was capable but wasn't going to play with the little lever til I'd got some decent idea of what, when and how to get the best out 1948 Tech! Andrew Harrison-Smith the owner of Nene Overland recommended Edd & ProTrax in a heartbeat and said they will be brilliant. They were, Lynn bought me a day playing in the mud, I got to choose the vehicle to play in, a 110 with Traction Control (so I could see how it worked and how to use it properly - I used enthusiasm and no understanding at all to take my fire response leased Evoque a mile and half up a green lane before beaching it and needing help to get out... and then I followed that with a Freelander 2 facelift version, which I loved much more than the Evoque - nod to Hippo, that wool due my Freelander vote and better by far than the Disco Sport and the Disco 5, both if which really disappointed me!)

Edd turned up with the right Landy, and started giving me a very practiced guide around my new toy, covering why to look for and assessing her condition. All came up good.

Edd will do track days, or off-road track days for anyone who wants to go play, it was really good, showed what they are capable of - especially clambering mm by mm up a horrible soaking slippery clay slope wiggling the wheel until all of sudden, we were there and over! Stunning stuff really!

Anyway, if anyone wants to book a day of fun alone or with other Loony Landies, contact Edd at ProTrax on ‭07854 700381 or the ProTrax Website protrax.co.uk or their main line no. 01536 772238

Oh, and Henry_b here are some inside pics will appear wherever they like, but I'll upload some, thanks for your pos thoughts! She has a tiny Mom Nero steering wheel now, I'm tall and long and the xtra room is appreciated!
