Hi - should i buy a FL 2?

I am new to this but am looking at buying a freelander 2 2007-2008 deisel. Purely because its more economical than any disco or rangey!

I would be very interested to hear anyones comments on these motors, i was very skeptical as the FL 1 has a very poor rep! However i did get sucked in by a salesman and have seen many good things about the FL 2?

Whats the verdict?

They are OKish, but like all Land Rovers, don't buy an early one.

I think the only big job we've done is change the engine on one. The rest tends to be service/brakes/software updates.

If you afford one, buy one.

Our family have had four, two of each and only one caused an expensive job but was bought at auction so is what you would expect. Buy from main dealer and not an early one. Expensive but hold value really well.
