Hi new defender owner

Hi all just thought I'd say hi as I'm sure I'll be needing some help soon with this new project, not running as yet got it for a bargain!! Battery is on charge now it's got. 3.0 disco engine in it, always wanted one and when this came up I couldn't say no, used to a 200bhp Astra 888 but anyway here she is



The person I got it off said they went through some water and it went home misfiring, before they had chance to get fixed accepted a job abroad and it's sat ever since for about 3 years, the engine does crank over its not seized up or anything any advice on what to do if it doesnt go? Common problems etc?

Before you start it, crank it over by hand having put some oil down each of the bores. If it does start, don't drive it until you've checked the brakes thoroughly as the seals could have perished in that time.

What 3 litre disco engine does it have? a TDV6? I can't think what other 3 litre engine was fitted to Discos! Are you sure the owner didn't say 300Tdi?
