Hi everyone,
thought I'd start off with a quick thank you. Been reading through the forum over the past couple of days and leant ALOT about the motor I've just bought (to be fair, wish I'd done that before I bought it). So as I say Thank you for a great imformative site.
Right now the groveling is done I'll tell you a bit about me.
I've just bought myself my first Land Rover, it's a '96 P38 that believe it or not is a Jap import. I've had a Pajero for about 4 years now but had always thought, 'Wish this thing had a V8'.
No point in converting it when I can buy the Rolls Royce of 4x4's with a V8 for about the same money was my next thought so off I went and bought the already mentioned motor last week.
Couldn't believe all the fancy gizmo's these cars come with and too be fair I bought this thing at night with my eyes closed and my back towards it (or might as well have), the second the big old 4.6 burrbled into life I was smitten.
Well as you may have guessed already, it's a complete turd! Lovelly looking car that sounds great and really comfortable, unfortunetly almost nothing on it works, about the only things that do are the electric windows and the radio but I can only get Radio 2 on that as the jap tuner only goes as high as 90 mhz, haha.
Anyway, believe it or not I still love the Vee beast and I'm gonna spend some time on it to try and bring a lot of it back to life and make it a good motor again.
Wish I'd checked it over to be fair (I'm old enough to know better) but I stupidlly met the guy selling it and he seemed like a top bloke and I took his word for it that 'Everything on it works'.
Never mind, that's my story, I'll get some pics up shortly and will let you know how the beast progresses.
I appologies in advance if I ask a dumb question that's already been answered a hundred times before, I do try and use the little search button but am sure to miss something I'm looking for an answer too.
Thanks for taking the time to read this and again, Hello and thanks for doing a great job of a helpfull and informative forum.
