Well, I've finally done it!
Always wanted something on the drive with a Land Rover badge, but in reality actually needed something comfortable, reliable and economic so have always had 'proper' cars. Closest I've been before was a Volvo XC90 R design. i recently left my job, set up on my own and now probably only drive about fifty miles a week. So, off went the dull and boring Honda Accord estate and in came Dave! He's a 2001 pre-face lift Discovery 2, TD5.. Love him to bits already, even though I can see that he's going to keep me busy with usual problems.
So far the bad bits that I've noticed are a very mucky inside NS front fog light with about 1 candlepower of light (replacement currently on order), the obligatory leaky sunroof (I'll see what I can do with some grease on the seals and possibly some new sealant around the frames - but don't expect much improvement) and the traditional completely stuck transfer box lever that resolutely refuses to shift from high to neutral (let alone low!), so I'm guessing that the description of his previous use as basically being for the school run and carting dogs about seems to fit.
Any suggestions or offers of help to improve the sunroof leak and stuck transfer box lever will be gratefully received, especially if any of you live in the Long Melford, Suffolk area and would like to come and help!

Well, that's me, hope to speak soon
