Hi all, I have just treated my self to my second defender. About 10 years ago i bought a defender 90 200tdi, hard top conversion. Stuck a Richards galvanised chassis on her. Kept her for 5 years and then sold her on. Had a rather mundane car for the last 5 years, 55-60 mpg, £30 per annum road tax, ran for 5 years and cost almost nought. The only pit fall is it never made me smile from ear to ear when driving it.
So bought myself a 2010 Defender 90 County Station Wagon 2.4tdci. Delighted to have another defender in my life. Basically use her to make me smile travelling to and from work etc, she is my main car. Plan on getting a tourer caravan at some point next year but great for sticking a few kayaks on top and taking the dog out etc. MPG less than half my last car. Road tax more each month than my annual amount in my last car. Still the best decision i have made in quite some time. No doubt i will ask some really simple questions in other forums. I ain't the most knowledgeable about them and hope to tap into the fountain of knowledge others have in here. The name is John by the way and I stay in South Lanarkshire. Great to be part of a cracking community once again.
