Hi all, been a viewer for a while now - and asking for help for the first time.
Firstly can I say hello
Now for the problem - dodgy starting on a 2001 TD4 - sounded like there was air system at lift pump.
broke down a couple of weeks back - refused to restart after being parked up for about 10 mins. Called the AA - but the freelander started first time when the aa bloke got there. But... he advised me to replace the lift pump. Ordered the pump but didn't get round to replacing it. Then today the same thing again - took over an hour for the AA bloke fiddling with things and checking the electrics to get it started. But the engine warning light is now on. was having a chat with him and he gave me a couple of clips so I have now dropped the new pump on - sounds much better than the old one - whizzes instead of bubbling - but the engine warning light is still on. The AA bloke reckons this could be because of how long it took to start earlier but wasnt sure if this would clear itself after a few days driving, or if I would have to get it plugged up to system to get it cleared.
Any advice anyone.
Thanks in advance everyone
