bit of trouble today and i cant seem to sort it out. 1.i have no handbrake warning light on the dash. 2.the diff lock wasnt engaging, atleast the light doesnt come on, but it all moves freely and feels like it selects fine. and finally 3.i have oil on both axles surrounding the 'drain bolts'??? and the front 1 seems to be very far out.

if anyone can make sense of that and give any kind of helpfull info i will be truely impressed!!

cheers in advance guys, i know someone will have something to say :D

Do you have a handbrake warning light switch for starters ???? .

Check the plugs for tightness 1/2" ratchet square ( dont over tighten it tho )

Difflock licgt could just be the switch playing up ( wire off the switch )

cheers sypher. is there some magic way i can check that the lock is still engaging tho? i lifted the plate between the front seats and took a look at the links, that all seems to move lovely, and if i do it with the engine off then i can hear a faint click as it settles into lock possition. but i just dont know. im crap at posting pics but i do have some online. its at Twitpic / thain2k if you get a chance to take a look and see if you can tell if its right. cheers

just trying to get a pic up on here

to find out if diff lock is engaging put it in diff lock then drive while on full lock either way and you should hear clicking from front wheels but dont drive on full lock to long as you will wind up your axle:doh:

i wouldnt drive it on tarmac in diff lock though as it will still wind the axle even to see if its working

id find a field engage difflock and boot it :D get some one to check all your wheels are spining;)

to check diff lock functioning engage diff lock, turn off engine, jack up one wheel. If you can rotate wheel any more than a few degrees diff lock not working/engaged. simplest way to be sure and no harm done to transmission

If you can't tell if your centre diff lock is engaged or not then it very probably isn't engaged. You could feel it as soon as you go round a tightish corner if it was.
