Hiya mate, in brief dont fooking bother, add 100 quid onto the price for a petrol one, if yer on a standard boost then yer aint running enough ter have enough boost ter get rid of when yer release the throttle, its also another inlet for water excess if yer wading.
when yer get back on the throttle youll be waiting ages for one of these the build the boost pressure up again.

best person to ask in our resident charlesy! as am sure he will have a comment and more knowledge than me.

why dont yer goto motorworld and buy one of those speaker things fer under the bonnet, 40 quid or somthing like that and yer local maccies carpark youths will all be in fear!

Thanks for reply, mebe i'l no bother wi 1 jud heard it could bo done an thought there might be an advantage an also the sound would be good 2 lol Thanks again Rik

He's right y'know. A dump valve on a TDi is pretty pointless. It'd vent all the boost from the intercooler and create tons of lag. Lag is bad, especially on a diesel.

I don't have a dump valve on mine (V8 turbo) because I'm only running 5-6 psi of boost and the lag is bad enough as it is.

Dump valves are useless on anything other than something like a rally car, your TDi certainly doesn't need one. I had a Sapphire Cosworth years ago and fitting an aftermarket dump valve ruined its driveability - sounded brilliant, but drove terribly.
