Hi Jonny, This sounds as if it could be an earth fault in one of the rear bulbholders if you have combination stop tail bulbs (twin filament type) and an earth is poor or missing, when you brake power goes into the 21 watt filament and through the 6 watt filament which is a side light (tail light and connected directly to the front sidelights. They would appear less bright than normal due to a voltage drop through the twin filaments of the rear light unit. This would only happen if you have twin filament rear light units however and I believe most Disco and RR lights use single filament bulbs. Another possibility is a short/ bad earth or by-pass through any trailer socket wiring. It sounds as if the radio may be getting a supply from somewhere and keeping the fuel cutoff solenoid energised somehow so when you switch off the radio, it kills the solenoid in the injection pump. Well that might give you some food for thought, Cheers, JV ROVERMAN, ('97 P38 DT2.5, '99 TD5 ES7 and 1961 ROVER P4 100),
PS. Will be in Sunny south Wales this week in TD5 T746MJN.
