I’m a newbie here, I am hoping someone will be able to have some suggestions
I have a 56 plate td4 it’s a fantastic truck 230000 miles
A few Weeks ago the o ring went on the front of the hp fuel pump I replaced without removing the pump tricky but possible it ran fine for 1000 miles, then I was driving down an A road and it just stopped I got it going but the orange engine light came on every time I gave it any significant gas
I have replaced the injectors ( good used apparently) , the injector wiring loom , the fuel filter , the low pressure fuel pump, and the fuel pressure switch, it’s better and is perfect in neutral to Rev up to 4500, as soon as you drive it and put your footdown at all the light comes back on and misses andlight coloured smoke from exhaust and no power
It’s been on diagnostic code is 1109 or something like that low fuel rail pressure
I’m stuck and frustrated, any ideas would be greatas I’m out and really don’t want to throw the truckaway
Thanks guys

Sounds like a low pressure fuel pump issue. Was the replacement LP pump a Pierburg? If not, then that could be the issue.
However you really need to read the live data when you're driving, as that's much more helpful than a simple code read.

Thank you for that I’m not sure of the fuel pump make, I will try a live read tomorrow when my local garage is open , after the last diagnostic I was told it is definitely either fuel pump or pressure switch, changed them both to no avail, do you have any idea where I could locate a pier burg place pump
Thanks again

The low pressure fuel rail needs to be above 300kpa, preferably above 350kpa at full power. If the LPR drops below 280kpa or so, the EDC will limit power, and light the MIL, so as to prevent damage to the HP pump.
