Hi so removed so screws on the under tray to change oil on 2004 freelander 1.8 petrol got the far side off drops down the two under the front bumper are stuck so soaked them in wd 40 the problem is where the hell is the oil sump plug there seem to be a few nuts under there but for the life of me I can’t see the oil sump plug
Also the oil filter looking on YouTube the filter is at the side of the sump but I cannot see the filter anywhere

any pictures to show me where they are would be a massive help
Thanks

See photo from my Haynes manual. Probs worth getting one or downloading the Rave manual, link on this site.

Plug and filter above.

Thanks for that found them . It’s on the front I was looking at the opposite end lol never know drain plugs at the front . Now to get the cover bolts for the front out

You can drill a hole in the bumper below the bolts. And try and use a 6 sided socket so you don't round the bolt off.

How can you do a proper head gasket replacement, without taking the sump off?

it’s just gone water in the oil only done 69k but I know it common. We only use it as a off roader in our field the garage said try steal seal it does a permanent job for only £30 and money back guarantee. So I’ve give this ago first as the car is Sorn so would be a problem taking it to the garage . I don’t mind spending 3-4hundred on a casket if it didn’t work as car only cost £900 and it’s in really good condition just brought a set of off road tyres for it

No, no, no. That stuff is death to a K series.:eek::eek:
If you're going to do a job, do it properly.

You could have my Facelift 2005 TD4 SE for £900. The TD4 engine is loads more capable than a K series off road. ;)
