Hi, I have just purchased my first Freelander a 2002 TD4 and have a couple of questions.
1, I have noticed that some TD4 engines have a sensor in the inlet hose mine appears to have been removed and replaced with a plain hose is this ok?
2, At the back of the engine I have found a small hose with an inline filter that isn't going anywhere, i can't locate a place to attatch it to, it doesn't appear to have an effect on anything as far as I can tell.
Anyone any ideas ? Thanks.

The rubber hose is fine ,dont know wot ya mean by a sensor, the small filter is for the induction air breather and it must have come out and needs ta go back , if i can find a pic for ya later ,will send it, unless someone can tell ya. . .:)

Hi ming and namaste,

Well, my neighbour with his MY05 Td4 has also such a kind of sensor in that inlet hose, mine hasn't, looks as the later models do have it but don't know what it's for though.

A mod maybe , info from others! ! !

My 2005 Td4 differs from yours in that is has the sensor. However it shares with yours the same little persistant oil leak coming out of the inlet tube (even though it was changed). Nice to see it's standard...:D

is it another design benefit?
