Landrover defender 90. F reg.
What rear brake disc caliper do I need. Here's my problem ??
Rebuilt drivers side rear new bearings new discs new backing plate everything seems fine..
Ns rear however when I fit backing Blake in place it offsets the caliper nearly touching the disc. So new pads won't fit. Help

F reg (1988/89) is pre-Defender. It'll be a Ninety. They had drum rear brakes. If it has discs now, then the rear axle has probably been swapped. Could be from a later Defender or from a Discovery/Range Rover.

You need to match calipers ,discs and pads.
There is a thin set of pads and a fatter set of pads.
If 110 rear brakes have been fitted as an 'upgrade'.
I imagine pictures of pads etc might help

OK. But why would it fit ons side an not the other if it's all the parts I'm using
I had this on mine with the caliper on the rear left taking the thicker pads and the one on the right the thinner ones. Took me longer than id care to admit (that and I didn't want to spend the money) to realise that id obviously replaced the rear left caliper at some point with a different part number. Took the part number off the rear left one and ordered the same for the right. Clean the number up, you will be able to read it as it's cast into the metal
