I want to replace my front bumper on my 4runner (do to fender-bender
with an American car :) ), but I don't know whether I'll be going over
my head. It should be doable, but I would like to know if you guys
have done it and if so how hard would it be. Theoretically, it should
be only removing bolts that hold the bumper to the body and hopefully
not wielded together.

If you guys know of any good resources, that will be appreciated.

Yep, 4 bolts hold the bumper to the frame and probably a few more small bolts attach the ends fo the bumper to the fender.
Disconnect any connectors to lights, etc.
