I was all set to buy some new alloy wheels until I did a little research here and there and found some questions I needed to ask.
I read that using too wide tyres on wheels can be dangerous. I have Kumho 225/75 R16s on the original steel wheels and I think I want to get alloys 16/7" - am I correct and safe and legal?
Also I tow a horse trailer occasionally, are alloys a strong as the steel, will there be any problems here?
There seems to be limited choice which fit my Defender 90 without any adaptations, am I correct?
And finally, I would prefer black alloys as I don't want my Landy to be too flashy, just to tidy it up, can anyone point me in the right direction? I quite like the Offenders but don't know if they come in black.
Thanks for any help and sensible suggestions,

as regards tyre size 265r75/16 are safe as houses ,alloy's are fine for what you use yours for only not if you were to do extreme off-roading/compitition safari
there loads of differant wheels out there just depends on how deep your pockets are ;):D
oh and :welcome2: to the loonyzone

Thanks very much for the advice - I can see this is mainly for men or those that don't mind cussing so I will bow out now and find another forum with better use of the english language! Thanks again,

Hi,
I recently fitted Zu rims to my Defender.
They are gloss black and also come in matt black finish.
They are shod with 275/65R16 General A/T 2 tyres and look the business when clean.
Hope this helps!
