Help landrover 90

Hi all my landrover 90 2.5 n/a diesel the altinator is charging and it charges baçk to the battery but the battery light stays on any ideas please?

Have you tested the actual battery to see how much it's putting out?

Test the output with engine running and then battery voltage with engine off. Check the small wire on the back of the alt is still attached and check that your belt isn't slipping

The batt with out it running is 13 and its about 13.5 when running bran new batt to the small cable on the back is still connected to

When running the alt should be putting out about 14.4v. Could be why your charge light is on if its not charging sufficiently

Ok so the alt is not putting out enough charge for the light to go off
