I’ve just bought TD5 off eBay and it has an annoying problem with the indicators.
If I put the indicators on, left or right, the indicators flash rapidly as if one of the bulbs had blown. Hoverer if you put the hazards on the indicators flash at the normal rate, all the bulbs are ok
I’ve changed the relay but still have the problem. The vehicle is equipped with a tow bar but I have checked and bought the correct type.
Can anyone advise as this is driving me crazy?

All bulbs are conventional, I haven’t checked the earth but I the hazards work then surly the earth’s ok ?

Behind each panel - each one earths to its own point on each wing (along with the other lamps on the same corner.)

By swaping the relay - I presume you mean the flasher unit do you?

Rapidly flashing lights are caused by not enough current being drawn through the flasher unit to keep it open long enough (i.e. when a bulb blows the resistance increases and so less current etc)

Bad earths all round could cause this, but this would usualy cause the same (or similar) problems with the hazards, but like ratty said this is not always the case because if two earths are faulty and the other two are good the effect may not be as noticable when all sezen lights are flashing instead of four (1 front and back, one on the side, and one on the dash.)

I presume that you have a 12volt flasher unit, not a 24 volt one ?

Resolved the indicator bulbs in the front were Blink R5W 12W? and 12v21W in the rear . Changed them all to 12v21W and now everything’s work as it should.
Thanks for all your advice
