Hello! Sorry if there would be a better thread for this.

I have a Defender 90 2.5 petrol station wagon, 1991, 67k miles. Bought for £2750, £1000 spent so far to get it running nicely.

I bought it this year when I did not know much about what I wanted. I converted it to LPG however I have decided next year to do a bit of a tour with my wife around Europe. Due to the tank I now can't go on Eurostar and have less space in the back.

Also I now know that I would at some point want to do a complete rebuild, but don't want to do this on the petrol as at some point I would want 4 seats in the back again. I converted it to LPG to keep it economical, but what is the most economical and easiest to do up, 200tdi, 300tdi or td5?

Also what kind range do you get on the tanks and what options do you have for extra/bigger tanks without putting them inside?

Any help greatly appreciated, if anyone wants to swap let me know! :)

If you have spent so much on it getting it to run nice on lpg then i'd stick with that...get the ferry!!

If you're looking to swap then a 200tdi is best bet, but you are looking at £500-600 for bits minimum and then fitting...
