Hello peeps!
I'm hoping to join the landy world again soon.....had a 2000 disco v8 for a few months a couple of years ago, and thinking about buying another one.
I'll be honest, it was a pretty unreliable beast, but I'm hoping to get a nicer example this time. That and I purchased the previous one without doing any research whatsoever, bought it completely for the exhaust note
So if I factor in having to do a engine rebuild/replacement, what's the best option to go with? A replacement from Turner Eng or new block and heads from v8 developments?
I'm not interested in LPG, so I won't be going down that route. I just want a reliable petrol family bus kinda thing. I know you can get Zafira's and S-Max's but they don't interest me and the other half in the slightest. Our next car needs to be a 7 seat 4x4 ideally. The 3.5 v6 gdi shogun isn't the best for reliability either, it's a complicated engine. Have looked at Nissan elgrands and Toyota Alpards too, but they're not proper 4wd's....
So is a v8 disco with a new/rebuilt engine going to be a reliable vehicle for next few years do people think? I know it'll still just and sensors will fail, I can cope with that
Thanks for taking the time the time to read this boring essay any advice or abuse welcome
