Hi all
I'm Jack and 19 and live in Kent. Always been interested in Land Rovers and things and am currently looking at buying myself one. I have been offered a 2 1/4 petrol 1972 series 3 for a reasonable price by a friend and a 1994 Defender 90 300tdi, again for a good price. Was wondering what people thought would best to start with having never owned a Land Rover before? Both are in good condition, if I was to get the series I'd keep my current car but the 90 I'd use as a daily vehicle. Any suggestions?

Many thanks

Hi,
I'm no expert, but to my understanding ..

300 should be reliable and easy enough to get parts for, but as I understand it's fly-by-wire, so not as mechanic-friendly as a 200. 94 is the year BMW acquired LR, and allegedly build quality suffered, but if it's lasted this long and it's good, it can't be all bad.

Series will generally appreciate if you don't mind admiring it in laid-out-on-a-bench form. If you're interested in Land Rovers and Things this will get you intimately acquainted with the insides of your motor.
