Hello all,
Recently reverted to Land Rover again. A 1997 Discovery 300tdi this time. A few years ago it was an old naturally aspirated 90 and back in the early seventies I lived in a series 1 SWB HT petrol for a winter or two! Best bed I ever slept in, gas cooker and sink on one side me and my guitar on the other!
This Discovery, like all the others bought by optimists, "just needed a a couple of holes plating for its MOT" you know what's coming... to date it has had the doors off and the trim out for over three months while I have been rebuilding the drivers side! Maybe it will be good for next winter.
Box section cills and body mounts, inner front wing, driver's side floor, both A and B post bottoms and front edge of rear wheel arch so far. Been continuous welding and redesigning structure to avoid any laminations mud and moisture traps. Second side should be a bit quicker now I know where and what to cut.
I have found the various rebuild threads very useful, always a number of unanswered questions so I though I would introduce myself so I can ask a few.
Alan
