I thought I would introduce myself. My name is James and I am 18 from Suffolk. By trade I own a company that rebuild's Mazda RX8 engines (rotary). I also own 2 RX8's but I also live in the country and a rear wheel drive sports car in the winter is useless on the mud covered roads and the running cost are not cheap.

So I went and got myself a Series 2A from 1967 that is being delivered to me on the 10th, it has also got an lpg conversion. So the reasons I got it.
First is that I recently got stuck in the mud in an rx8 and the roads round my area do not get gritted or cleaned so it will be used as a winter and work car.
Second, I can insure it full comp for just £950 (at 18 not bad I think).
Third is space and economy, I am often collecting bits and my mums kia is too old and high mileage to be doing these trips and as a result now only gets about 28mpg on diesel.
Fourth reason is its cool, it looks a bit plain at the moment but I hope to beef it up with totally unessential things.
Fifth is its practical, as it can tow I can now collect and move future cars around (as I often buy dead RX8's and rebuild them), it will also be great to have a trailer at last.
Sixth reason, fun, plan to do some off roading in it.

For me this is something totally new, I have only ever worked on RX8's and have never known anything about piston engines, also I know all the terminology for Rotary engines but do not have the first clue about piston engines. Its also an old car so I am going to have to get learning about various bits that the RX8's do not have, leaf springs to name one. I hope to use this forum a lot over the coming months

Thanks
James
