hello guys

hi,have just bought myself a 94 L reg discovery 300tdi (well pick it up in the morning anyway) after years of jap offroaders including terrano`s,fourtraks and most recently a 4.2 landcruiser which was stolen from the metro centre in gateshead leaving us stranded miles from home so whilst browsing round lakeland landrover yesterday i came across the discovery tucked away round the back,not a spot of rust anywhere even in the back door bits where they usualy go,1 previous owner and must have been garaged all it`s life to be in this condition,quite big mileage at 166000 miles but full stamped service history from landrover,drives great but a slight clonk from rear when clutch is let out and all for a grand which i thought was reasonable.
anyway enough rambling from me and i am sure i will be popping up shortly with my first problem/s.

The clonk from the rear, on taking up the drive, is most likely the A frame ball joint knackered - about 20 quid to fix.

Hello mate sounds a goodun.The clank is possibly rear Ujs, if it is easy fix.

UJ's rarely cause a clonk - usually a vibration or continuous banging.

Sorry to hear about your Landcruiser, they are brilliant machines. Your Discovery sounds nice so good luck.
