Hello from SE Scotland

Hi all, just sticking my head above the parapet.

Used to own a Series IIa SWB in the mid-80s, and thinking about getting another Landy. My current car is a '96 Toyota MR2, which didn't do very well during the last winter (loves dry B roads, but my local streets with ice is a very bad idea). The Landy would be a second vehicle for bad weather days, and for going places I wouldn't take the MR2 in pursuit of my photography interests (green lane type stuff).

Not sure what I'm after yet, but I think it will be a Defender - just need to work out what body type, and the balance between condition and price. I guess I need to learn about things like engine options as well.
