Reet ahm a 1999 1.8 petrol freebie owner and have had all the normal things go wrong with it! I think the 1st year I owned it I only actually had it on the road 6 months the rest of the time it was in the garage, but I do believe that was in part down to the crap garage I was using at the time as since the last time I had the head gasket done at a differnet garage I have had no problems with it!
Oh and the only time the freebie has been off road is to park it in me driveway
