Hello to anyone who sees this. I'm (at the age of 56) new to Landrovers and forums , so please bear with me if I do or don't do something I should or should't .I've just bought a1998 Discovery which appears to be basically unmodified , and is my intention to modify for off-road activities. My fist job is to find a course to take it to and test out it's limits so if anyone knows somewhere ,preferably in the North West , Wigan/ Bolton I'd like to find out. I feel a bit daft talking to a computer but I 'll get used to it I suppose. Well a bit about me , I'm semi-retired from the haulage game, have a bit of mechanical experience, a lot of broken-down in middle knowhere experience, a sense of humour (developed when in middle of knowhere) willing to learn, like helping others regardless of all the **** stains up my back. I've just read this back to myself and I don't know who this is but he seems like a saint .That's it for now. Still feel daft talking to a computer.

Hello and welcome. So you'll have the 300 TDi engine? Or is is a very very early TD5?
