Hello from Essex

Hello all.

I am new to all this 4x4 fun and games.

I've always been a petrolhead and brought a V8 Discovery after a good friend picked up a cheap one to go green laning.

I've not made any mods yet but it did well at Bures sandpits the other weekend with just a couple of sticky moments and a damaged front bumper.

Its just a winter runaround fo when the weather sets in and a toy to get used and abused.....

Apparently there is a 60 mile green lane route from Braintree to Stanstead, has anyone been on this route before?

Alright mate.Was at bures the last weekend there, you see the disco on its roof?(Werent me by the way!)Dont know ofthat lane but put the question in the greenlaning section you might geta better response.

Yes, the Red one, I think it belonged to the orgonisers or something... 2 young kids in there as well.

I was a passenger most of the day, it was my wifes Birthday the next day and I brought the Disco as a joint present I also had my 2 kids with me.

I had a tidy blue one and was following around my mates Red one all day.

I had been green laning as a passenger a few weeks earlier and thoroughly loved it. I just had to get a Disco of my own.

I only ask if anyone was arare of the Braintree - Stanstead route out of interest, the guys in Sudbury I go with know it well and I will be joining them one Sunday soon.

What a Day.
All started with some cleanish intact cars.




Then started to get them dirty.


Watched others having some fun.





Then Anita gave the Disco her first war wound. We got properly stuck in a ditch and could not get out by going forward.. Eventually reversed out but we ripped off the bumper trying to drive out.




Then Drizz decided to get stuck up the top of a steep climb. :lol:

But he got out and came back down again

Then we came accross a stuck Disco and stopped to watch.



The little buggy just slipped down and crashed into the Disco...

Then the huge recovery truck seen earlier in the water came over to help... :lol:
Result.


By now most of the quarry had came to view. :lol:





Then home again to annoy the neighbours. :lol:
