Hi,

My Landy belonged to my Late Dad, he owned her very proudly from 1991 (which apparently is not just a couple of years ago!!) I took her over last August. She had only done 300 miles in the last 4 years as Dad had been ill. I have included an awful photo from some years ago and will hopefully get a new picture soon. She is running really well and I have made a good start on restoring her to former glory. She is an H reg 110 TDI (I can hear you all shouting 'I know, I can see that'!) Dad put an air horn under the bonnet, so when you hit it people jump which makes me laugh... She spent her life with Dad working in the woods up to her bumpers in muddy tracks and carrying logs and chainsaws as he did forestry. I had only had her a few weeks, and was still getting to know her when I turned the corner in a narrow lane and saw a car and people through a hedge and in a ditch. She pulled them out in reverse with ease and I knew we were going to get along just fine. I would like to put bench seats in the back and also a headliner to stop the condensation. When I get to that point I will ask for some help please. Thanks AB4 Capture.PNG

Welcome to the mad house from someone who used to get the number 8 bus to go to Andover..

You are correct, he was chainsaw mad and showed a huge collection of saws/crosscuts/axes and machinery from the first to almost new. He attended shows and fairs for years until he was 80, and the Landy is in every photo!
I will check out the insulating article, thank you very much.

Thank you.
Just been reading your stolen Landy section. Can't imagine how heartbroken I'd be if mine got stolen. Can anyone join Landywatch? if so, how please?
There was a landywatch website until a few years ago. Now it’s on Facebook. It’s worth contacting your local Police force (Hampshire) to see if they have any schemes that encourage your Landy to get stopped if seen out overnight.

Invest now in decent security measures for it. Tracker, steering and pedal lock at least.

Thanks for the advice. I inherited her with a separate immobiliser (so you need 2 keys) I think that was put in 10 years ago. Also a crook lock on the steering. I am sure you are going to upset me now by saying they are as much use as a chocolate kettle!?? I have considered tracking and thought as mine was so old perhaps it wasn't worth anyone pinching it but after reading the list of stolen ones here I have changed my mind.

Not how it works. My 90 was getting on for 20, battered not single straight panel on it. always thought wasn’t worth stealing was th state on it.

Wrong :(
very sad. I will get on to getting a tracker. Thanks to you all for the advice and warnings - I had no idea they were so desirable. When I had my 20 year old series 2a as a 17 year old and towed a pony trailer, everyone thought it was funny and I was a weird kid. Now years later I have a 30 year old 110 and people think it's cool. Have times changed, or are people strange?!
Wish I could find my old 2a, it is SORNed so still out there somewhere...
