Hi I have owned several Rangerovers my first a 1980 3 dr with a big slow 3. 3 perkins forklift engine, really slow. Second was a 2.4 vm 88 model ,then I tried a 3.5 auto and discovered the v8 great economy not feasible.I then bought a 92 3.9 manual and sold the v8 engine from it and replaced it with an Isuzi 2.8 very worthwhile but body not great so sold on and treated myself to a 95 2.5 dt which I fitted a module to and it was still a sluggish lump I kept that for two yrs and then sold on .My most recent one was a near mint 88 3.5 auto which I converted to tdi and manual ran a year and foolishly sold. I am at present thinking of trying to fit a 2.8 intercooled Isuzi lump to a p38 5spd manual Rangerover and I would welcome any input from anyone who has gone down this road before. My thoughts are that I have seen the bmw 2.5 appear in a few classic rangies and hence it must be possible to do it the other way round unless you know better.I am going to read through the forum now thanks for reading my tale and hope to hear from some of you knowledgeable people. Cheers gog
