Hi Everyone
I joined a while back to get some advice and have just bought my Landrover Defender Utility 110 300TDI ex AA. Its a 1997 and the chassis is really sound and the engine and transmission seem absolutely fine.
I drove it back from Durham to Lincolnshire last week and it pounded down the A1 70-80 no bother.
Stopped at the services and when I opened the middle door the bottom hinge broke and the door nearly fell off which was quite funny.
Pulled onto the drive to see my missus with her head in her hands wondering if I had gone mad.
Immediately started searching for parts and found 4 really nice complete Puma doors and tailgate, a non ribbed roof with the side windows and sunroof, a Puma bonnet and some new windscreen wipers and spindles, the drivers side one popped over the edge of the windscreen and stayed there on the way back from Durham as well.
Hope to start on the bodywork this weekend and begin to find out how this thing comes apart.
Really looking forward to finding out more about Landrovers especially Defenders in particular and meeting some like minded folks.
