Hi, Everyone.

Just signed up having been hovering for a while after buying a SWB SIII. This follows an L322 Range Rover Vogue bought a couple of years ago as my daily driver after a lifetime of driving exclusively german cars - VWs and Audis. I also have a 1983 Mercedes-Benz 280SL roadster for high days and holidays.

The Landie was bought jointly with my son as a bit of a toy. It wasn't in great shape when we got it and, whilst we don't intend a full restoration (which we have recently done with his classic Mini) we are slowly updating and re-conditioning various parts to make it a usable vehicle.

Hopefully I'll be posting a lot more now to help people wherever I can (I'm active on the Mini and Mercedes forums), but in the meantime we do have one problem, so if you might be able to help with regard to timing and priming what I believe is a 14j or 15j 2.5 NA diesel which has been transplanted into our Landie then please seek out the second post I am about to submit!

Thanks

Shaun

Welcome to the forum, you certainly have good taste in vehicles!
Thank you. This is the newest acquisition... currently causing headaches as it won't start after the timing belt was replaced :(. Just as well I enjoy simply looking at it!!:)
I'll post up some pics of the rest of the 'fleet' (forums love pics, don't they??)

And I see that you're garage is the epitome of order and cleanliness.
That Mini is a peach btw.. :D

Edit : Just spotted the Robin under the Merc!!

Thank you. Clean and tidy is the only way I can work. The Mini was the first full restoration my son and I have attempted. Neither of us is a mechanic (both working in offices) so it was a bit daunting. It had previously been his daily driver. Everything came off / out and was either replaced or re-conditioned. Minimal engine work but it does now have a Cooper twin-SU set-up. We sprayed it in the garage in a mock-up booth created by lining the floor, walls and ceiling with plastic sheeting. Had to teach ourselves to weld, too! (See the sill in the 'before' shot, for example). It's an homage to a car built and used in historic races by Swiftune. Here are a couple more pics if anyone's interested.
