Just joined the forum. Ive had two landies, first one many years ago (series 3 safari lwb).
My current one is an early 90 on a AA chassis, with origional 2 1/4 petrol eng and running gear.
I have kept her origional, but improved the vehicle. I would really love a larger engine, but would hate to rip the old girl apart as there can't be too many early origional 90's left with matching numbers.
I must ask the question. Am I being puritanical about its worth? Is it of more value as it is, or would it be worth modifying it to what I really want.
I am considering buying another fixer upper, to feed my ambition and also keep this one. Its loved, not only by me, but the entire family.

Welcome chap :)

If it were me I'd keep as is, and buy one that you can modify to your hearts content. As you say, original ones are thin on the ground so I wouldn't be in any hurry to start pulling it apart when there are thousands of rescue cases out there you can do what you want with.

X1 on keeping original. It's been said elsewhere already that the early 90 and 110's are one of the best proper landys built. You could upgrade to a 2.5 petrol which could be authentic but they are rare. Personally I'd keep as is and appreciate a classic landy!
