Just joined the forum!
Not a land rover owner yet! but soon will be!
I am a Scot living and working in Sweden. We own a classic Mini for the summers here! And an ALfa 147 for our every day car.
The Alfa however is making way for a Defender. So the mini can be our impractical car and the defender our overly practical car!
Defenders, being quite rare here, means they are also pretty expensive! However we have singled out 1 or 2, which means a 500 km journey to view them! I am pretty set on a 90 (thats the name for the short wheel base right?) with the Td5 engine. I have squeezed some extra power and torque from our mini (with more to come, currently 80 bhp and around the same torque level, doesn't sound much....but more to come ) and plan to do the same with the Td5.
I have keenly been researching some *stage kits* i dont read into the whole stage 1 /2 / 3 malarky as its just marketing. But the JE engineering stage 2 kit seems, money well spent (remap, intercooler, itg filters, manifold gasket etc). SO i will be browsing here shortly for any advice.
I dont want to open a can of worm by this next question; but i will be using the car mostly on road, and wonder (having never driven a defender) what i can expect?
