Hi there I have a series 3 1983

the hater has packed in, the resistor is ok, took the side air vent off and the fan seems to move ok when i span it round by hand, so any idea's folks

Try a seperate feed / known good cable -

if it still doesn't work, then the motor is prolly knacked ---

Have you checked that there's electric getting to the motor with a meter? Have you checked the earth return is good? If you disconnect the motor can you measure resistance across its terminals? Does it change when the motor is rotated?
If the connections are good and the motor rotates then I would suspect the brushes will be seized or worn.

loose feed to switch on dash, all fixed and back to be semi warm again
