Chaps, I'm not getting any heat at all. The control valve 'appears' to work ok - at least the cable moves the valve ok. After an initial inspection earlier today, the pipe seems to get nice and warm / hot just before the valve but cold immediately after.
I'm thinking that there is either an air lock or the valve is knackered internally. I will try flushing the matrix with a hose tomorrow in case of blockage but I was wondering if the control valve can be taken apart / repaired or tested in some way?

Any advice / help really appreciated :)

Use a hosepipe to make sure there's good flow through the matrix. I think the valves are swaged together but they're easy enough to get.

I removed the valve and just ran it direct.......without the fan on you get virtually no heat anyway and as a fresh/cool air blower the set up is even worse than it is as a heater

Ok quick update...I attached a hose to the matrix and flushed it out. Wasn't too bad to be fair.
I then removed the outlet hose from the heater valve. By inserting a very small screwdriver into the outlet end of the valve, I removed some mayonnaise like thick gunge. Water started to flow and I now have some quite decent heat! I then replaced the passenger door rear window seal which was missing to help keep heat in. A much nicer place to be in now!
